Jen’s Journey: Present Time

It’s June 7th and I’m on the road, traveling in my van (the Great van Gonzo, aka the Gonz) across the country as I move into the next phase of my life.

Since Kate died in December 2011, I’ve been intending to share more of my internal experiences, with the hope that the personal is also universal. I have much to pass along and appreciate the opportunity to do that with you.

Today, I am stepping out of my comfort zone.  I am stepping into a new level of vulnerability and transparency.  Why?  Because it’s time to offer my unique experience of how the death of my life partner Kate has connected me to That Which Never Changes.

I begin today with a video taken on June 5th, 2012, the special day of Venus Transit.  Venus crossed in front of the sun in a set of 8 years – which only happens every 120+ years or so.  The last Venus Transit 8 years ago was the June after my mom’s death.  And now here I am, the June after my beloved returned to spirit form.  The 8 years in between, I have been on an incredible spiritual adventure.  And the next chapter is just beginning . . .

    Dearest Jen,
Thank you for the posts and the video. Raven and I watched it together just now. I am so moved by your experience and how you are sharing it. I feel the bigness of your stepping out into this new phase…off the cliff, so to speak. Enjoy the ride through the air, my love. You are so held.
    I love you,
    Bay

    Hi Jen!!!
Yay for you in writing this blog! And thank you for keeping in touch in your journey. I was struck by your couch stories that I got to read while at your house, and just how talented a writer you are. Its mostly the simplicity, ease and honesty of the words that strike me.

I’m remembering too the simplicity of Kate’s responses to things that would have annoyed me. I watched someone giving unsolicited advice and she allowed them to finish and just smiled and said no thanks, I’m fine. These simple moments are sometimes the most profound. We don’t have to get programmed by someone, or be polite or, or, or…we can just be ourselves. Kate taught us that well and you are carrying it on, ever so gracefully.
big hug for you on the road!

    WOW Jen!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your heart and soul…and the knowledge of the ALL.
You are truly a remarkable being.
Blessings on your beautiful, dear, sweet adventure.
So much love sending you off from Shasta…its as if you are drawing a line like a big giant slinky across the country…to the love on the way and welcoming you on the other end…only to be pulled back by the force of the great goddess mountain. And those of us who miss you already!
    Much love,
    K

    Jen,
I’m up early this morning because I had trouble sleeping. Too many thoughts of what needs to be done and feeling very stressed. And then there was you, talking to me from across the county, putting so much in perspective! So thank you and know that you made a difference today,to me! Safe travels and I hope our paths cross in Vermont this summer!

    Jen,

There is not a week that I don’t think of you. It was a pleasure to play your youtube VENUS message full screen on my macbook pro, it is like you are standing right in my house. I look forward in learning more about your journey. Hope you visit Vermont, let’s meet for lunch! Love Edmund

You are so loved. Not just by me. And not just for this. But GOD I’ll admit it. I have wanted and wished for you to do this. My spirit forever entwined, connected – apart and close – to your’s and Kate’s. Thanks for filling in the blanks.
I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and ironically – into a blissful one too
-by watching your path and living it a bit vicariously. Thanks for allowing me.
The invitation of the universe – to be 100% alive! – continues beautifully through you Jen.
I am so looking forward to reconnecting in person – very soon – here in Vermont.
    Warmly,
    Julie

    Dear Jen,

Thank you for sharing such heartfelt testimony of your journey. Just seeing you again, hearing you again, after so many years, makes me “Gracias a la vida, que me ha dado tanto” (I thank LIFE, for giving me so much!). Your friendship and compassion, and spirit, are among the best things in that life.

    Love always,

    Hello dear Jen,

I continue to be amazed by your courage, your willingness to deepen your relationship to the divine, and breathing in the most beautiful qualities of Kate. You honor her and her life in embracing those qualities of aliveness, self-expression, beauty and vulnerability that she demonstrated. So now you are making the choice to have the best of her be a part of you!

I know it is difficult for any of us in lifetime partnerships to imagine what life might be like without the physical presence of our beloved. So I want to thank you so very deeply for demonstrating a lovely relationship of embracing that deep loss not in a lot of drama or pity but in a very open-hearted contribution as you know your eternal relationship deepens Life as you step forward into the unknown.

We love and support you. Know you are always welcome when you get to VT.

    Christine
