Niagara Falls & Sacred Water
I’m in Buffalo, NY and didn’t expect to participate in an international event today.
My dad and I went to Niagara Falls this afternoon. I’ve been there many times in my life and it’s rarely been a big deal to me. It was a place of souvenirs, wax museums, the Hard Rock Cafe, and a lot of hype.
Well, tonight someone will be walking a tightrope across the falls.
While I’m grateful to be inspired by the power of human potential today, I’m especially grateful to connect to the sacredness of the water. Just like this stunt, access to fresh flowing water is about “life & death.” Water is so precious and supports human life like nothing else can.
My prayer today is that the hundreds of millions of international viewers of Nik Wallenda’s stunt receive a blessing of light and aliveness from the rushing waters. I am in awe of how Niagara Falls, a place whose divinity may often go unnoticed, offers life-force energy as clear as the water itself.
May we humans fulfill the possibility of fresh drinking water for everyone on this planet and recognize how interconnected we are to nature and each other.
