Are you plugged in?
As I saw the icon on my cell phone go down to one little bar, I thought “Huh. How did that happen so quickly? Better find an outlet.” And this got me thinking . . .
The experience of knowing
Earlier this week, I went to my friends’ house in Juniper Valley, CA. One thing I love about Abbie and Jack’s place is there’s a spectacular view of the north side of Mount Shasta. To me, the mountain looks more volcanic from this perspective, which I find quite powerful.
Our wild & precious lives
Hooray hooray hooray hooray hooray today’s my birthday! Hooray hooray hooray hooray hooray today’s my birthday! Not the pickle, not the pear, not the elephant, not the bear, not last week or yesterday – Hooray today’s my birthday!!!
Living & dying with passion

When joy & wisdom appear
I love synchronicity. And I really love when it shows up loud and clear.
Two weekends ago, I attended a “Circles of Healing” retreat in Mount Shasta, CA for those whose lives have been somehow touched by cancer or chronic illness. I went with my partner, who has survived cancer more than once, and also held my mom in my heart.
A young optimist’s “AHA” moment
Have you ever felt completely discouraged? Feeling like a failure at something that you had been confident you could achieve? What did you do in that moment? How did you respond?
This video is a priceless lesson in optimism. Watch for the boy’s AHA moment:
Catch the good vibes of Oprah’s good day
I finally saw this amazing video from Oprah’s 24th Season kick-off. Talk about optimistic! As if the song isn’t uplifting enough, the community effort of this coordinated dance of 21,000 people is outstanding.
