That Which Never Changes
What’s been coming up for me over the past weeks and months involves accessing “That Which Never Changes,” getting in touch with a deeper inner connection that is there no matter what is swirling in my external world of circumstances (or internal world of emotions and thoughts).
The Power of Connection
On Saturday June 30th, we had a ceremony to return Kate’s body to the land. The prayer flags that friends and family created for her in Mount Shasta, Vermont, and along the way are now waving in the wind between the trees on a sweet lake north of Montreal.
Poem for life on earth
The past few weeks have certainly been quite a ride for humanity with the 9.0 earthquake in Japan, and subsequent tsumanis and fears of nuclear radiation. I invite you to give yourself a deep breath in this moment, feeling your body and connecting to the source of all life.
Walking in someone else’s shoes
Recently, I did a marathon.
No, not the 26.2 mile sort. Instead, I went on a TED marathon . . . as in getting mesmerized online for hours and hours by videos from the TED Conferences (Technology, Entertainment, and Design, though their motto of “Ideas Worth Spreading” says it better).
Optimism as a radical act
Imagine deciding to live without creating any environmental impact for a year: no trash, no carbon emissions via car or bus, no toxins in the water, no elevators, no subway, no products in packaging, no plastics, no air conditioning, no TV, no flush toilets. This is what “No Impact Man” Colin Beavan, his wife, and daughter pursued last year in New York City and filmed as a documentary. Radical? Yes.
Are you plugged in?
As I saw the icon on my cell phone go down to one little bar, I thought “Huh. How did that happen so quickly? Better find an outlet.” And this got me thinking . . .
The experience of knowing
Earlier this week, I went to my friends’ house in Juniper Valley, CA. One thing I love about Abbie and Jack’s place is there’s a spectacular view of the north side of Mount Shasta. To me, the mountain looks more volcanic from this perspective, which I find quite powerful.
When joy & wisdom appear
I love synchronicity. And I really love when it shows up loud and clear.
Two weekends ago, I attended a “Circles of Healing” retreat in Mount Shasta, CA for those whose lives have been somehow touched by cancer or chronic illness. I went with my partner, who has survived cancer more than once, and also held my mom in my heart.
